NOOSA SHIRE COUNCIL

Black Mountain Road Landslip

Following heavy rainfall within the Noosa Shire Council Local Government Area in February and May 2022, a major landslide has occurred on Black Mountain Road, causing excessive damage to the road formation and embankment with the failure extending more than 120m wide with a depth movement greater than 15m.

Geotechnical engineering reporting indicates that this is the most significant landslide to affect a road asset in the Noosa and Sunshine Coast region in the last 30 years.

ARO is engaged by Noosa Shire Council to undertake the engineering design and documentation associated with the remediation of the Black Mountain Road landslide.
