WAIBEN SEAWALL REHABILITATION

The Waiben Esplanade Seawall is located on Thursday Island and provides essential safety to the Thursday Island community by preventing coastal erosion and other damage due to wave action and storm surge. The Sewall sustained damage following the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough, 25 January – 14 February 2019 event resulting in the need for repairs and betterment of the Seawall.

ARO were engaged by Torres Shire Council to undertake engineering design and project management services for the delivery of the repairs and betterment works.
